Europe’s drone sector is at a critical juncture, grappling with strategic dependencies and supply-chain bottlenecks. Recent analyses highlight that Chinese firms dominate roughly 70% of the global UAV market and supply 90% of key drone components[1], underscoring why European institutions have launched massive initiatives like Readiness 2030 and the European Defence Fund (EDF) to cultivate indigenous capabilities. In this context, Poland’s emerging startup PUAV—established in 2024 and headquartered in Warsaw[2]—aims to create “combat-driven” tactical drones and counter-UAV systems for defense use[3]. According to its profile, PUAV’s products are designed from “real-world battlefield experiences,” including offensive kamikaze loitering munitions and anti-drone interceptor drones[3]. This report examines how PUAV’s technology portfolio and strategic orientation align with EU and NATO goals: supporting European autonomy by replacing foreign dependencies, enhancing deterrence with advanced unmanned systems, and fostering interoperability under allied doctrines.
