Hardened Storage & Security Systems

Protection of Nuclear Warhead Storage and Command Infrastructure to Preserve Deterrence Credibility and NC3 Continuity

Hardened Storage & Security Systems address a critical operational vulnerability in nuclear deterrence architectures: the exposure of nuclear warheads and associated command-and-control infrastructure to physical attack, cyber intrusion, electromagnetic disruption, or insider compromise. In high-intensity conflict scenarios the failure of storage vaults, base security systems, or nuclear command and control (NC3) communication nodes can rapidly degrade the survivability and availability of nuclear forces, undermining the credibility of retaliatory capability. This tactical capability therefore focuses on the physical hardening, surveillance, cyber protection and operational resilience of nuclear storage facilities and their supporting communication infrastructure in order to maintain assured weapon availability, secure custody, and uninterrupted command authority under contested conditions.
