Epinovatech AB is a Swedish deep-tech company developing gallium nitride semiconductor wafers and related chip technologies with potential relevance to Europe’s strategic autonomy agenda in advanced electronics. Founded in 2019 and based in Lund, the company is positioning itself as an upstream European supplier of high-performance GaN-on-silicon materials for applications spanning power electronics, telecommunications, renewable energy, and, potentially, defence-related systems such as radar, electronic warfare, and directed-energy architectures. Its strategic significance does not derive from current participation in major military programmes, which remains unverified, but from its effort to localise a critical layer of semiconductor capability within Europe at a time of acute concern over external dependencies in advanced materials and chip supply chains.
