Divergent Technologies Secures $290 Million to Scale Aerospace and Defense Platform
On 16 September 2025, Divergent Technologies, Inc., a Torrance, California-based advanced manufacturing startup, announced the successful closing of its Series E financing round, raising $290 million at a post-money valuation of $2.3 billion. The round was led by Rochefort Asset Management and included $250 million in equity capital alongside $40 million in debt capital. Founded in 2014, Divergent has developed the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS), a software-defined, end-to-end digital manufacturing platform that integrates design, additive manufacturing, and automated robotic assembly. The new funding is earmarked for scaling production capacity, expanding the company’s technical workforce, and developing additional capabilities for aerospace and defense product lines. For investors and policymakers, the transaction underscores the rising importance of dual-use technologies that combine software and hardware to enhance industrial competitiveness and reduce dependence on legacy production models.
